Journeys End Vineyards’ winemaking philosophy means that the portfolio is subject to change from vintage to vintage. In an average year where fruit of sufficient quality is unprocurable, certain wines will not be made. This philosophy ensures that the wines from Journeys End Vineyards consistently represent excellent value for money, over-delivering on flavour and varietal character.
In 1824, a Scottish gentleman by the name of Busby came to Australia cherishing great faith in the future of Australian wine. After visiting Europe he returned with 678 vines, of which 362 were successfully grown in the Botanical Gardens of Sydney. Amongst the collection were the nations first Shiraz vines. These cuttings were to propagate the vineyards of Australia, heralding the beginning of one of the world’s great Shiraz journeys.
