The name ‘Isole e Olena’ came about in the 1950s when the De Marchi family purchased and combined two adjoining estates, ‘Isole’ and ‘Olena’, each of which dated back hundreds of years. The estate is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region at the midway point between Siena and Florence.
This wine are 100% barrel aged: 40% new oak (French and 20% American) for 24 months. The wine is released 2 years after bottling and has the potential to age well for up to 15 years.

The wine shows pure berry and cassis fruit flavors on the palate with focused and layered expressions of blackberry fruit, vanilla, and minerals. Savory in flavor, velvety in texture with firm yet supple tannins.
