The name ‘Isole e Olena’ came about in the 1950s when the De Marchi family purchased and combined two adjoining estates, ‘Isole’ and ‘Olena’, each of which dated back hundreds of years. The estate is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region at the midway point between Siena and Florence.
This wine are 100% barrel aged: 40% new oak (French and 20% American) for 24 months. The wine is released 2 years after bottling and has the potential to age well for up to 15 years.

The 2019 shows impeccable fruit ripeness and balance with a dark core of blackcurrant that is elegantly surrounded by spice and savory notes. This Cabernet Sauvignon embraces tobacco and baking chocolate. It delivers rich texture that needs a few more years in the bottle to soften. It also shows a balanced 15% alcohol that goes relatively unnoticed.
