Dr Loosen Blue Slate fruits comes only from parcels with blue slate soil, which is the most typical type of slate in the Middle Mosel valley in villages such as Bernkastel, Graach, and Wehlen. Rich in potassium, this soil provides vital nutrients to the vines and gives the wines a pronounced mineral edge. The grapes are farmed sustainably and come harvest are carefully hand selected. After harvest the undergo cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks before the fermentation process is stopped by chilling.

This riesling Blue Slate wine is a riesling with a slight straw tone and a surprisingly gentle mouth feel that shows a mixture of freshness through apples and pears and, maturity, through hints of honey.
