Conterno Fantino is a wine producer based in Piedmont in northwest Italy. It was established by Claudio Conterno and Guido Fantino in 1982, and is based on a hillside close to the village of Monforte d’Alba. The focus of the estate falls to four key grape varieties: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Chardonnay.The grapes for this exotic, barrique-aged noble chardonnay come from the Bricco Bastia and Ginestra sites and the result is a bright, racy white in minimal quantity.

This oak-aged Chardonnay shows a hint of reduction on first nose that bodes well for its near and medium-term evolution. The wine is redolent of orchard fruit, pear, allspice and a touch of clove embedded in an orange peel.
