Château Lannessan’s history is rich, stretching back to 1793 when the estate came under the ownership of the Delbos family. This long lineage of stewardship has shaped the estate’s character and commitment to quality. Notably, the current château, a picturesque 19th-century manor inspired by Tudor architecture, was constructed in 1876 under the guidance of Jean Delbos. This architectural heritage has become emblematic of the estate, adding to its storied charm.

For many years, Château Lannessan was managed outside the formal Bordeaux classification system, allowing it the freedom to focus on quality rather than ranking. In the early 20th century, the estate gained a reputation for creating wines of high quality and value, attracting a loyal following that recognized its wines as comparable to more renowned classified growths.
