Made by Denis Durantou of Chateau l`Eglise-Clinet, Saintayme Grand Cru Saint Emilion is from a parcel of 35-year-old Merlot vines in Saint-Etienne de Lisse, Bordeaux. Durantou prefers to pick his grapes fresh, not overripe, so there is a classic Bordeaux character to the wine. His wines tend to be rich and concentrated with beautiful structure and terroir components; they are never over extracted nor too modern.
