Domaine JAEGER-DEFAIX is located in Rully and is among the elite of the Côte Chalonnaise. It boasts 6.5 ha of vines including 4.5 ha of Rully located in premier cru areas, for the whites: 1er cru Mont-Palais, 1er cru Les Cloux and 1er cru Rabourcé; and for the reds: 1er cru Préaux and 1er cru Clos du Chapitre as a monopoly (plot entirely enclosed by a wall).
Preaux is aged in oak barrels (1/3 are new) during 15 to 18 months. A very light filtration is made before bottling so a light sediment may deposit.Very representative of a Pinot noir from Burgundy, this wine is all fineness and elegance.

Rich imperial purple. There is an extraordinary intensity of ripe fruit, fresher than mulberry, and less forced than the village wine. A sweetness from the vintage, and a fine thread of acidity.
